Here's another addition of the Rock of the Woods artist feature. This time we're bringing you Sunhawk, from Victoria, BC. They're playing at Rock of the Woods on this Saturday, which means we're getting very close to the big event! Sunhawk, an electrifying, high energy dance rock three-piece hailing from Victoria, BC exploded onto the island rock scene in early 2010. Childhood friends Keenan Murray, Matt Longpre and Ben Robertson seamlessly switch instruments song to song, constantly pushing the limits of how much sound three people can deliver on stage.
In March 2011 the band released their debut EP entitled “And So It Was” to a sold out crowd at Lucky Bar. The album was entirely written, recorded, mixed, and distributed by Sunhawk and is available now on iTunes. In summer 2011 the band filmed their first music video for a brand new single called "Shotgun Love". Sunhawk continues to amass a dedicated and raucous fan base through social media, campus newspapers, and word of mouth. A bright future awaits this young band.
